Cloud Platform Engineer – Remote (UK) – £50,000-£70,000<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We’re working with a fast-growing, globally distributed technology organisation to find a Voice & Cloud Operations Engineer<\/strong> to join their CloudOps function. This is a fully remote role<\/strong> offering the opportunity to work on large-scale enterprise voice platforms and cloud-based communications systems.<\/p>\n

This position is ideal for someone with a strong voice engineering background<\/strong> who enjoys deep technical troubleshooting, platform ownership, and working in complex, real-world environments.<\/p>\n

\n

The Role<\/strong><\/h3>\n

You’ll play a key role in supporting and operating enterprise voice platforms, with a focus on SIP-based services, SBC environments, and cloud connectivity<\/strong>. Acting as a senior escalation point, you’ll lead technical investigations and ensure high availability across critical systems.<\/p>\n

The role is more platform-focused than pure SBC engineering<\/strong>, making it a great fit for someone with foundational SBC experience who wants to deepen their expertise.<\/p>\n

\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Act as a Tier 3\/4 escalation point<\/strong> for voice-related incidents and production issues<\/li>\n
  • Troubleshoot deployments, call routing failures, and voice quality issues<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Perform deep technical investigations<\/strong> across SIP, VoIP, and cloud infrastructure<\/li>\n
  • Support and maintain SBC environments<\/strong> (configuration, routing logic, certificates, security)<\/li>\n
  • Assist with migration projects<\/strong>, including transitions to modern authentication (OIDC)<\/li>\n
  • Work within Azure environments<\/strong>, diagnosing connectivity and performance issues<\/li>\n
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Contribute to automation scripting<\/strong> (PowerShell\/Bash) for operational efficiency<\/li>\n
  • Participate in an on-call rotation<\/strong> for critical support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Key Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n
      \n
    • ~5+ years’ experience in Voice \/ Unified Communications \/ Cloud Operations<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Solid understanding of SIP, VoIP, and telephony concepts<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Experience working with Session Border Controllers (SBCs)<\/strong> (AudioCodes preferred, but not essential)<\/li>\n
    • Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Direct Routing<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Strong troubleshooting skills across network, application, and provider layers<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Experience with tools like Wireshark<\/strong> for packet analysis<\/li>\n
    • Scripting experience with PowerShell or Bash<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Desirable Skills<\/strong><\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Exposure to Azure monitoring tools<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Experience with Skype for Business (on-prem or hybrid)<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Experience supporting cloud migrations or identity integrations (e.g. OIDC)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
