The Role<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We are working with a secure public-sector programme delivering mission-critical digital services<\/strong> used at national scale.
They are looking for an experienced Software Engineer \/ Developer<\/strong> with strong cloud-native engineering<\/strong> skills to design, build, and operate modern systems in highly regulated environments.<\/p>\n

This is a hands-on engineering role<\/strong> — you will be writing production code, working closely with infrastructure, and contributing across the full delivery lifecycle.<\/p>\n

Please note:<\/strong> Due to the nature of the work, active SC or DV clearance is mandatory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

What You’ll Be Doing<\/strong><\/h2>\n
    \n
  • \n

    Designing and building cloud-native applications<\/strong> on AWS<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Developing backend services and APIs<\/strong>, primarily in Python<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Defining and maintaining infrastructure using Terraform<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Working across the full SDLC: design, build, test, deploy, and operate<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Collaborating with product, platform, and security teams in agile delivery<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Supporting secure, scalable, and resilient systems<\/strong> in production<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Contributing to CI\/CD pipelines and operational best practices<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Working on systems that matter — national services, defence, or critical infrastructure<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \n

    Essential Skills & Experience<\/strong><\/h2>\n
      \n
    • \n

      Active SC or DV clearance<\/strong> (non-negotiable)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Strong experience as a Software Engineer \/ Developer<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      AWS<\/strong> (e.g. Lambda, ECS\/EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, API Gateway)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Python<\/strong> used in production environments<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Terraform<\/strong> (infrastructure as code)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Experience building APIs and backend services<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Familiarity with CI\/CD pipelines<\/strong> and cloud deployment<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Comfortable working in secure or regulated environments<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \n

      Nice to Have<\/strong><\/h2>\n

      • \n

        Experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django<\/strong>, or similar frameworks<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Exposure to frontend technologies<\/strong> (React, Next.js, Angular)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        Experience with containerisation<\/strong> (Docker, Kubernetes)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Background in public sector, defence, or government programmes<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Understanding of DevSecOps<\/strong> and cloud security best practices<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Experience supporting live services<\/strong> at scale<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
