MySQL DBA – Cloud Migration (AWS & Azure)<\/p>\n

Location: Remote (UK)<\/p>\n

Contract: Inside IR35<\/p>\n

Duration: 6 months<\/p>\n

Role Overview<\/p>\n

        \n
      • We are looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator with strong AWS and Azure cloud migration experience to support a major database transformation programme.<\/li>\n
      • The role will focus on migrating on-premise MySQL databases into cloud environments, initially into AWS and eventually transitioning workloads into Microsoft Azure.<\/li>\n
      • This role sits within a migration-focused satellite team working alongside the infrastructure team.<\/li>\n
      • The successful candidate will play a key role in risk assessment, migration planning, and execution, ensuring zero downtime migrations where possible while maintaining performance and security standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n

        Required Skills & Experience <\/p>\n

        Essential<\/p>\n

          \n
            \n
              \n
            • Strong Database Administration experience with MySQL.<\/li>\n
            • Proven experience delivering database cloud migration projects.<\/li>\n
            • Hands-on experience with both AWS and Azure cloud platforms.<\/li>\n
            • Experience migrating on-premise databases to AWS.<\/li>\n
            • Strong performance tuning and database optimisation skills.<\/li>\n
            • Ability to conduct risk assessment and mitigation planning for migrations.<\/li>\n
            • Strong documentation and communication skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n

              Desirable<\/p>\n

                • Experience with Azure Cosmos DB.<\/li>\n
                • Exposure to large-scale database transformation projects.<\/li>\n
                • Experience working in hybrid infrastructure environments.<\/li>\n
                • Knowledge of database footprint reduction and system simplification strategies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
