  • Experience managing large, multi-disciplinary teams (100+ people)
  • Strong grounding in:
    • Programme & project delivery (APM / MSP / PRINCE2 or equivalent)
    • Change & transformation
    • Governance and assurance
  • Experience working in regulated or safety-critical environments is highly desirable
  • Comfortable operating at Executive / Director level

The Role

This is a senior leadership position responsible for the oversight of enterprise-driven and international IT initiatives, operational excellence, and the international technical roadmap. The successful candiate will ensure an IT environment that is secure, scalable and resilient to support continued growth across multiple markets.

Working closely with executive leadership, enterprise IT teams and in-country stakeholders, this role will drive standardisation, risk mitigation, data privacy and continuous improvement. You’ll be needed to act as a trusted advisor and governance partner to local IT teams, whilst providing active oversight of major IT programmes, infrastructure, network, endpoint and security services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business and IT stakeholders, providing executive-level updates and strategic alignment.

  • Own and develop the international technical roadmap covering infrastructure, cloud/data centre environments, networking, endpoints and security.

  • Lead and oversee large-scale international and enterprise IT projects, including M&A due diligence and complex implementations.

  • Champion cyber security, risk management and data privacy standards across all markets.

  • Oversee end-user services and collaboration platforms, including M365, and advise on the adoption of AI capabilities such as Copilot and other generative AI tools.

  • Lead and influence high-performing teams in both direct and matrixed environments.

About You

You will bring 5+ years’ experience in a senior IT leadership role, with deep expertise in infrastructure architecture, cloud technologies, M365, identity and endpoint management, cyber security and large-scale project delivery. Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate confidently at executive level are essential. Experience in multinational environments and healthcare settings is highly desirable.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group CIO, you’ll lead a UK-based team of ~30 technologists across Infrastructure, Development, Cloud, and Data Engineering. Your core mission will be to unify fragmented systems and services, drive innovation, and ensure the business’s IT backbone can support continued expansion across multiple countries and markets.

This role sits on the IT & Security senior leadership team and will act as a key partner to business and operational leaders across the Group.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Technology Strategy: Define and implement a scalable, secure IT strategy that aligns with ambitious UK and European growth plans.
  • Systems Integration: Lead the migration from legacy systems to a unified Practice Management System (PMS) across all sites.
  • Infrastructure & Cloud Ops: Oversee all aspects of IT operations including networks, cloud (Azure), and service delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor high-performing technology teams while embedding best practices and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Manage third-party service providers and technology partners to ensure efficient and cost-effective service.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an experienced technology leader who brings a blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and the ability to lead complex transformation in a multi-site, fast-paced, and high-growth environment.

 

Must-have experience:

  • Proven track record leading IT for multi-site organisations – sectors such as healthcare, retail, hospitality, logistics or similar.
  • End-to-end leadership of major system migrations and digital transformation programmes.
  • Experience managing cross-functional tech teams and external vendors at scale.
  • Strong familiarity with cloud environments (preferably Azure) and enterprise systems (ERP, HRIS, PMS or equivalents).
  • Commercially astute, comfortable operating in private equity-backed environments.

Nice to have:

  • Background in regulated or clinical sectors.
  • Experience with Practice Management Systems or consolidating operational platforms post-acquisition.

 

Location & Working Pattern

The role is UK-based and requires 2-3 days every fortnight at the HQ in York. The rest of the time can be worked remotely or from other UK locations.

Position: Director of Engineering HPC Team, Cambridge 

We are looking for an experienced and innovative Director of Engineering to lead our clients global engineering team. This key leadership role is part of the Engineering IT Leadership team and will be responsible for overseeing several critical technical areas, including High-Performance Computing (HPC), Engineering Platform Access, Engineering Collaboration and  Linux Platforms. You will lead a global team to ensure seamless product development by maintaining and improving the infrastructure that supports engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • High-Performance Computing (HPC): Manage and lead a large-scale HPC environment (handling half a million cores), using LSF (or similar schedulers) to ensure high availability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • DevOps & Automation: Drive the implementation of DevOps best practices (CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, GitLab) to automate infrastructure and improve the efficiency of development workflows.
  • Engineering Collaboration Tools: Manage and optimize the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) for enhanced engineering collaboration and compliance.

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to highly skilled teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders from engineering, IT security, and infrastructure teams to drive best practices and ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Budget Management: Ensure cost-effective investments in technology while meeting the organization’s strategic goals.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Expertise in HPC Environments: Strong experience managing large-scale HPC systems, preferably with LSF or similar schedulers.
  • DevOps & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficient in DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab.
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms: In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), with AWS being the primary focus.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire large, technically diverse teams (30-40 people) in a fast-paced environment.
  • Background in Product Engineering: Experience in software development, especially in Python, and a product ownership mindset.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.

Preferred Backgrounds:

  • Candidates from semiconductor companies or those with experience in high-performance computing (HPC) environments, or Oil and Gas etc. are highly preferred
  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure management, such as virtualized environments and containerization (Kubernetes).

I’m looking for an established and senior architect to join a leading insurance company who are building upon their existing architecture function. There many projects and programmes of work this year and moving into 2025.

Salary: £130,000 – £140,000 p/a + 25% Bonus + Package

Location: C. London (twice weekly)

The Role

To support the organisation’s its breadth, diversity, and complexity along with its desire for sustainable and profitable growth their business requires first-class IT solutions and services. This role exists to partner with senior IT & business stakeholders, understand their needs, layout future state and transition roadmaps then design robust, pragmatic, and efficient IT solutions to address those needs. The role is pivotal to the IT function and will act as the “bridge” between the various IT delivery groups, the business units and supporting functions such as procurement, Security and PMO

It requires an individual with demonstrable breadth and depth of experience across multiple IT architectural domains. The ability to shape and deliver complex business solutions in an Enterprise context is essential. The ideal candidate will be a “technologist at heart” with a solid, proven IT Architecture background who demonstrates business focus, strong commercial acumen and the ability to focus on the “big picture” whilst being able to detail with lower-level implementation. They should be prepared to work at pace, balance multiple competing priorities and challenge the status quo to achieve optimum outcomes for the business.

Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with IT Business Leads and Business Stakeholders to develop, maintain and curate the IT Roadmaps across multiple domains.
  • Contribute to IT Architectural bodies (Design Authority and Architecture Review Board) ensuring all solutions adhere to EA standards, principles, security, operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides technology thought leadership and guidance to IT Business Leads and Business teams.
  • Conduct Business Capability assessments and map these to current and future state IT solutions.
  • Capture and analyse specific business requirements and create appropriate solution designs ensuring all functional and non-functional requirements are properly satisfied. These include Conceptual Architecture, HLD and LLD artefacts.
  • Works as part of multiple delivery teams / scrums to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard of quality within the agreed time, scope, and cost measures.
  • Develop and shape investment business cases in conjunction with colleagues across the business.
  • Builds relationships with architects across the team globally (Data/Infrastructure/Security/Integration); participates in Enterprise Architecture activities.
  • Seek opportunities to simplify, automate, rationalise, and improve the efficiency of their IT solutions.
  • Create application upgrade, migration and retirement strategies that align to their plan whilst ensuring dependencies, risks are identified and mitigated accordingly.
  • Communicate architecture solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences ensuring the communication style used is appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Coach and mentor project delivery teams and other colleagues as required to ensure successful business outcomes – act as a domain expert escalation point when necessary.
  • Engage with the wider IT teams to foster innovation, deliver proof of concept solutions and acceptance of new technologies.
  • Keeps abreast of technology trends identifying opportunities for commercial benefit.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • A proven track record as a Senior IT Architect in large and complex Enterprises
  • Demonstrable experience designing IT solution architectures with corresponding technology phase transitions and migration plans where necessary.
  • A pragmatic, resilient and highly driven personality who always seeks to “get the job done”.
  • Outstanding business engagement & communications skills
  • Credibility articulating complex technology concepts and solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience negotiating and contributing to contracts for the provision of IT systems and services.
  • Expertise of Microsoft technology stack, platforms, and components (o/s, DB, web, application)
  • Experience of working within both Waterfall and Agile delivery frameworks
  • Experience working with multiple external delivery partners in the execution of IT projects.
  • Experience working on multiple concurrent projects often with competing priorities.

Desirables

  • Experience of Insurance Industry processes, applications, solutions & architectures
  • Experience of Automation tools / technologies (BPMN / Workflow / RPA)
  • Experience of PaaS, IaaS, SaaS deployment models especially in a Public Cloud
  • Knowledge of “cloud native” technologies and tooling ideally using Microsoft Azure
  • Basic knowledge of the relevant use cases for Enterprise Service Bus tools
  • Knowledge of API and micro services-based architectures desirable (this is not a development role
  • Experience of architecture modelling tools (SPARX, Mega, ArchiMate or similar)
  • TOGAF or other recognised architecture frameworks
  • Prior experience managing projects and/or operational experience would be highly beneficial.

Head of Cyber Security (Inside IR35)

Big Name Financial Services Firm require a Head of Cyber to support and deliver the CISO’s Cyber requirements within a complex & federated environment. This role is a senior leadership position however it will require a strong technical understanding and to be able to take ownership, drive change and challenge from a Cyber perspective.

Head of Cyber Security will have the following experience:

  • Experience as a Deputy CISO, Head of Security or ISO reporting directly into the CISO.
  • Reported up to CIO level previously
  • Set-up and run operational security functions
  • Able to own remediation tasks and risk reduction activities.
  • Point of contact for Cyber Security Transformation Delivery
  • Has experience and in-depth understanding of Information Security Consulting (i.e. business impact assessments, risk assessments, and working with change functions)
  • Has hands on experience of operational security processes, able to work with and challenge other technical teams and Senior Leadership i.e. Architecture,
  • Good Technical understanding across to consult across Cyber Security deliverables i.e. DLP, SIEM, Cloud Security, DevSec, Endpoint Monitoring, Web Access Firewalls, and operational security tooling
  • Experience working in a Federated environment
  • Financial Services experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management is key.
